Yuming is a Chinese girl being forced to work at a textile factory in China. One brave day, she sneaks a note pleading for help in a purse she is sewing. This purse makes its way to the United States, and Clara finds the note in the purse at a department store in Illinois. Clara is suffering the loss of her sister but is determined to help this enslaved girl in China.
